Date of Birth: 17th November 1946, Birmingham, England. It was raining!

Education: Kings Norton Grammar School, Tudor Grange Grammar School, Hall Green College, Lanchester University.

Instruments: Guitar from 14 years old; flute from 16, sax. From 20 to 21 years! bass clarinet 64 years old!

Bands: The Dwellers who became the Moonrakers; The Noblemen who became the Penny Peeps who became Motivation who became Gethsemane and then ran out of stupid names!  Oh! and Jethro Tull  plus  various solo bands and guest appearances.

Family: Married to Julie......children; Jennifer, Elayne and Cameron.

Home: The South Hams area of Devon, UK.

Transport: Porsche 911 (getting old now), a MGTF from 1954  (always in the garage being fixed).

Hobbies: Running, table tennis, tennis, wakeboarding, snowboarding... sounds healthy but I'm not.

Food: Vegetarian (if i have a choice!)

Entertainment: Movies, anything with David Attenborough on TV, boating and music!

Favourite Gear: Paul Reed Smith guitars (I have 6), Soldano Decatone amps and GHS strings (10 to 46 gauge); Sankyo flute, Yamaha Bass Clarinet, Fylde bouzouki, Gibson mandolin (1954), Fender Mustang Bass (1961), Shure mics. Mark acoustic amp.

Favourite colour: black or grey when I'm in a good mood.

Most boring thing about me: I collect model steam trains and even get calls for advice from Auctioneers.

Best gig ever: Solo tour with Willy Porter at BB King's Club, New York.

Best recording ever: Mover and Shakers; title track with Vikki Clayton.

Best run ever: Lake Titicaca at 14,000 feet in Bolivia with the "trots" and very slowly, but very beautiful.

Famous people I have beaten at table tennis: Berndt Schneider (racing DTM driver), Andy Caddick(cricket), Nick Brown(Davies Cup tennis) Dave Pegg(musician)!!
